Disable Windows 7 Splash Screen: Make Booting Faster

Dec 17, 2013

Windows 7 Splash Screen is the small clip that plays while booting your PC, or laptop which shows the Windows logo saying "Starting Windows" which is around for a few seconds. Now if booting quickly is important to you then you can choose to remove and disable that splash screen which saves you around 6-8 seconds of your boot time.

Speed Up Boot Time: Remove Windows Splash Screen

Step 1: Access System Configuration Tool.

Press Windows key + R and type in msconfig and press Enter or search for "System Configuration" in Windows 7 program search from the start menu.

Step 2: In the System Configuration window click on the Boot tab. Now check the "No GUI Boot" option enabled.

Step 3: Click Apply and OK and Restart to see the settings in action.

The next time your pc boots it goes directly to the Windows logon screen without wasting a few seconds on the Windows splash screen.
