This Optimization tool
provides some options for you to improve the speed of your Desktop Menu.

1. Start menu speed optimization can make the start menu open faster. We
advise you to adjust this item to its best performance by using the regulating
bar.
2. Menu
running speed optimization can improve the operating speed of all menus. We
advise you to adjust this item to its best performance by using the regulating
bar.
3. Desktop
icon cache optimization can improve the display speed of the desktop icons.
This option is to set the maximum disk size for the system to put the icon
cache file. Windows justification range is from 100KB to 4096KB, and the
default value is 500KB. If your desktop icons often get mixed up, we advise you
to adjust it to 2000KB. You can find the cache size already used by the system
when you enter the page of this option and you should not adjust this setting
to the level less than the size already used.
PS: The optimization tool will recreate
the icon cache when you click "Apply", if the icon cache has
changed. In addition, normally Windows puts
the icon of an installed application in the cache file in order to improve the
display speed. But it does not delete the icon when you uninstall the
application. This function can help to reduce the size of the icon cache file.
We advise you to use this function when icon display speed becomes slow or icon
display becomes garbled. You only need to make a change in "Desktop Icon
cache" then click "Apply".
4. If you
stop visual effects of windows, you will lose some good visual effects but with this tweak, you can get a
little speed increase.
5. Forbid
the system to keep records of used applications, paths and files. The selection
of this option can forbid the system make records for history information and
improve its performance. We advise you to select this option manually before
using it to optimize the system.
6. Setting
Windows to adopt the traditional start menu and desktop can save system
resources. If you PC's resources are poor, you are advised to use this
option. (PS: This option is only valid to
Windows XP/Vista)
7. Automatically restart
Windows Explorer in case of any exceptions. If this
option is chosen, Windows will restart Windows Explorer automatically when
there is abnormal happening to explorer or any of its components. We advise you
to select this option. (PS: This option is only valid for Windows2000/XP/2003/Vista.)
8. Create
independent process for desktop and Windows Explorer. Windows usually sets a
multiple thread Explorer process (including desktop, task bar, etc.) as
default. This will cause the crash of one thread to lead to the crash of all
other threads. This option will help to create independent processes for
desktop, task bar, etc. (PS: If a Windows 9x user select this option, the system will pop
out a "My Computer" window upon every startup, so we do not advise you
to select this option. Users of Windows2000/XP/2003/Vista can select this
option to improve the system stability. )
